Welcome
Hi, May we thank you for looking at our Web site. If you are a regular visitor to our website you will have noticed that it is being updated and altered in various sections. This is being carried out for two reasons. One is that everybody is interested in what their fellow member anglers are catching and also where the catches are coming from. To further this end we have introduced a Weekly News Roundup which we hope with support and information received from you anglers out there will keep all your fellow members up to date with what is happening out on our waters. Secondly everybody has their own ideas on what they would like to see and find out from the web site what their club is doing. If their is anything that you think we should or could be doing to improve our information services for our members and to any other interested parties we would dearly like to hear from you. Initially either E.mail or telephone M.J.Dimmock with your suggestions, details can be found in Useful Contacts. It is hoped that in the near future we can include a Blog page and you can post your comments direct. Thanks once again for visiting us, we look forward to hearing from you. The club is one of the oldest established angling clubs in the country, having been in continual existence since the mid 1800's.Currently we have a membership of over four hundred and hope to maintain this figure in the coming year. Our aim is to please a wide and varied membership to the best of our abilities, and as such provide angling for all. Should you require canal angling, we have it. Should you require river fishing, we've got it.
Should you wish to indulge in barbel angling, we can provide this along with many other popular types of angling including carp, tench, bream, roach and pike. Our members have in the last season produced carp to thirty, pike to twenty nine plus, also chub to seven and barbel to about fourteen. Our waters are made up of fisheries on both the rivers Nene and the Great Ouse as well as fourteen miles of canal angling on the Grand Union Canal. We also have five still waters. All waters are open through out the year with the exception of the rivers. There are one or two bans which we feel necessary: SEE CLUB RULES No joker or bloodworm except between bridges 22 and 27 on the grand union between November and March inclusive. The ruling for the amount of rods used is that on the rivers only two rods may be used per angler, though with two rod licenses use three on still waters unless other wise specified (Meadow Lakes) where the rules are different from the general rules of the club and are displayed at the entrance to the lakes and (Swan Valley). MEMBERSHIP: FULL ADULT TICKET THIRTY THREE POUNDS. LADIES / PENSIONERS & DISABLED FOURTEEN POUNDS. JUNIORS TO 17YRS TWO POUNDS. THESE SUBSCRIPTIONS RUN FROM JUNE 1ST TO MAY 31ST. THEY ARE AVAILABLE FROM ALL LOCAL TACKLE OUTLETS OR FROM THE MEMBERSHIP SECRETARY .
